Job summary

Our client is seeking a mature, compassionate, and firm Hospital Matron to oversee the day-to-day welfare of patients residing within the hospital. Job descriptions & requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise patients within the hospital wards and residential facilities to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
  • Promote discipline, respect, and adherence to hospital rules and routines.
  • Monitor patients' general welfare and promptly report any concerns to the relevant clinical team.
  • Support the admission and orientation of patients into the facility.
  • Ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and proper use of hospital accommodation and common areas.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and foster a calm, supportive atmosphere for patient recovery.
  • Address minor disputes among patients and escalate serious concerns to management where necessary.
  • Keep records of incidents, observations, and patient welfare issues.
  • Work closely with the nursing and clinical teams to support patients' overall well-being.
  • Ensure patients comply with scheduled activities, meal times, visiting hours, and other hospital routines.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate or Diploma in Nursing, Community Health, Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Caregiving, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working in a hospital, rehabilitation centre, residential care facility, children's home, or similar institution will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage people in a residential setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and emotionally mature, with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
  • Honest, dependable, and willing to reside within or work flexible hours as required.
