General Purpose
Our client, a busy and modern dental practice, is seeking to recruit a skilled, experienced, and motivated Lead Dental Nurse to lead its dental nursing team and coordinate daily clinical workflows. The successful candidate will provide effective chair side support to dentists and specialists, ensure high standards of infection prevention and patient safety, and oversee the efficient management of clinical operations within the practice.
Location: Nairobi| Gross Salary: Ksh. 60,000 – 80,000
Duties & Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and support the dental nursing and dental assistant team.
• Prepare staff rotas and ensure adequate clinical cover at all times.
• Provide professional chairside assistance to dentists and specialists using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Support dentists during routine and complex dental procedures.
• Maintain strict infection prevention and control standards across the practice.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and clinical waste management requirements.
• Monitor dental equipment and coordinate routine maintenance where necessary.
• Oversee dental stock levels, ordering, and availability of clinical supplies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and clinical documentation.
• Support compliance requirements and maintain relevant practice documentation.
• Effectively utilize dental practice management and patient record systems.
• Promote excellent patient care, professionalism, teamwork, and a positive clinical environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
• Diploma in Dental Assistant Course from a reputable and recognized institution.
• Valid professional registration and licensing with the relevant regulatory body.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Dental Nurse.
• Previous experience in a senior or leadership role will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of dental procedures, infection prevention, health and safety, and clinical protocols.
• Knowledge of Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced dental practice.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
