The Inventory Officer is pivotal in maintaining precise control over all inventory aspects within the organization. This role is not only crucial for conducting accurate stock takes and reconciling inventory discrepancies but also extends to the strategic management of stores, including both packaging materials and finished goods.

Key Responsibilities
Stock Management: Conduct regular and precise stock takes;
reconcile inventory discrepancies and update records accordingly.
Store Management: Efficiently manage the storage of
packaging materials and finished goods to optimize space utilization and accessibility.
Coconut Inventory Management: Oversee the management and
reconciliation of coconut inventories at different collection centers, ensuring
accurate tracking and reporting.
Supervisory Duties: Supervise and manage warehouse
assistants, fostering adherence to inventory handling and storage procedures.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate bin cards
and ensure that documentation for all inventory movements is up-to-date and compliant with
company standards.
Damage and Obsolescence Communication: Proactively
communicate with the inventory manager about obsolete or damaged inventory to facilitate
prompt action.
Inventory Planning: Review and adjust reorder levels for
packaging materials and inputs for production based on current and forecasted needs to prevent
overstocking and understocking.
Safety and Procedures: Ensure all team members follow
safety standards and operational procedures in handling and storing inventory.
Inventory Analysis and Reporting: Analyze inventory data
and generate regular reports to support decision-making and address potential issues in
inventory levels or processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce,
Accounting or CPA finalist.
- Proven experience in inventory management or a different
accounting role
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems and
procedures.
- Demonstrate ability to use ERP systems and MS Office
applications with a focus on Excel
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making
skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The candidate must be willing to stay in Lamu and has experience working in Lamu.
