Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Create content for a variety of broadcast and digital media platforms, in multiple formats including audio and video.
- Use your knowledge of the digital media market to produce interesting news content for our website and social media platforms.
- Ensure the highest quality content is created for our audiences and conforms to BBC Values and editorial standards.
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
- Knowledge of issues and trends affecting African audiences , as well as the changing needs of these audiences
- Demonstrable knowledge in a journalistic background is essential.
- Experience of digital newsgathering, original journalism, using various cameras and filing video from the field is important.
- Track record of filming and editing high quality video content, with knowledge of working with Final Cut Pro and other tools and applications as required.
Job Impact
- Decision making High level of responsibility and decision making; able to operate alone. No managerial responsibility. May be informally supported by junior staff i.e. Researchers, Coordinators and Assistants. Scope Covers a wide range of journalism activity, producing news content and supporting the production and presentation of programming.
