Junior Accountant

We are a fast-growing multi-brand group in Nairobi running Bun & Beef (smash burger restaurants), MaliBowl (Somali bowl concept), and Rex’s Ice Cream, across multiple branches. We are looking for a Junior Accountant who genuinely loves the numbers, someone who is meticulous, organized, and stays on top of daily financial data without being chased.

This is a hands-on, numbers-first role. You will be the person who makes sure every shilling that comes in is accounted for, every payment that goes out is supported, and the business always has a clear, accurate picture of its finances. If you take pride in clean books, tight reconciliations, and reports that are ready before they are asked for, this role is for you.

What you will do:

• Post daily sales, expenses, and supplier invoices into QuickBooks, correctly categorized by branch and account

• Reconcile daily income across all payment streams: cash, M-PESA, card/POS, online delivery platforms (Uber Eats, Glovo), and bank deposits

• Verify that all collections, payouts, commissions, and platform charges are accurate, and flag any shortages, withholding, or variances immediately

• Manage and reconcile petty cash across all branches, with proper supporting documents and approvals

• Process and track supplier payments, review invoices against delivery notes, and perform monthly supplier reconciliations

• Assist with daily and monthly bank and mobile money reconciliations

• Prepare daily revenue reports, expense summaries, variance reports, and monthly finance reports

• Maintain a clean, organized filing system for all invoices, receipts, vouchers, and reconciliations

What we are looking for:

• A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• At least 2 years of accounting experience

• Solid understanding of bookkeeping and reconciliation principles

• Hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel

• Sharp attention to detail and a strong sense of accuracy

• Highly organized, able to manage multiple branches and deadlines without dropping anything

• Discreet and trustworthy with confidential financial information

• A genuine numbers person, someone who chases down a variance because it bothers them, not because they were told to
