Job Title: Leather Artisan

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Leather Artisan to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality leather products from scratch or customizing existing products as per customer requirements. The Leather Artisan should have knowledge of different leather types, techniques for cutting, stitching, and finishing leather, as well as an eye for detail and a passion for creating unique, handcrafted products.

Responsibilities:

• Create high-quality leather products from scratch or customize existing products as per customer requirements.
• Use knowledge of different leather types, tools and techniques for cutting, stitching, and finishing leather to create unique, high-quality products.
• Create and interpret product designs and patterns, ensuring that finished products are accurate to the design specifications.
• Collaborate with customers to understand their needs, provide suggestions and recommendations, and ensure that their requirements are met.
• Manage and maintain the tools, equipment, and materials necessary for the job, ensuring that they are in good condition and readily available when needed.
• Maintain high standards of quality control and ensure that all products meet customer expectations.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices at all times.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and materials, and incorporate them into product designs as necessary.
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction by ensuring that all products meet their requirements and expectations.
• May supervise and train apprentices or other staff members as required.

Qualifications:

• High school, Diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in leatherwork, with a focus on creating high-quality, handcrafted products.
• In-depth knowledge of different leather types, tools, techniques, and best practices for cutting, stitching, and finishing leather.
• Strong attention to detail and an eye for design, with the ability to create and interpret product designs and patterns accurately.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to develop unique solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and operate machinery and tools safely.
