Job Description/Requirements
- Provide expert-level medical care to patients, reviewing reports and conducting examinations in line with current guidelines and Gilgil Specialist Hospital compliance standards in their respective field of specialization.
- Undertaking clinical procedures and examinations within the scope of your practice.
- Diagnose and manage both common and complex illnesses, developmental issues, and chronic conditions.
- Review patients' medical histories, observe their movement and posture, and use various assessment techniques to identify impairments and formulate treatment plans as per the standards operating procedures for Gilgil Specialist Hospital.
- Embrace Gilgil Specialist Hospital’s standards and treatment protocols by going above and beyond to ensure compliance with the set minimum standards of ensuring quality, affordable, and accessible health care services.
- Develop and lead individualized, patient-centered care plans to ensure continuity of care through appropriate follow-up and active caregiver engagement.
- Provide emergency and acute care support by stabilizing acutely ill patients, guiding the team in emergency protocols, and initiating timely referrals to higher levels of care, when necessary, in their respective field of specialization.
- Monitor patients' progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Establish short-term and long-term goals and discuss the treatment approach with patients.
- Educate patients and their caregivers on the nature of their condition, treatment options, and preventive measures to promote overall wellness.
- Maintain detailed records and communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in the patient's care.
- Educate parents and guardians on patient health, nutrition, hygiene, and preventive measures.
- Mentor and support clinical development by guiding providers in pediatric care and sharing knowledge through CMEs, case reviews, and feedback sessions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure holistic treatment approaches.
- Collaborate with the receptionist to ensure accurate and efficient billing processes for services.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and comply with all relevant legal and ethical standards related to Clinical documentation, patient confidentiality, and privacy at Gilgil Specialist Hospital’s compliance standards.
- Adhere to professional and ethical standards in patient care, ensuring patient safety, privacy, and confidentiality always.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, collaborating and liaising closely with colleagues
- Ensure patient records are captured in the HMIS accurately and referrals are well communicated.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical treatment by following established Gilgil Specialist Hospital clinical protocols and standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the clinic, contributing to the development of evidence-based practice and enhanced patient outcomes.
- Provide educational support and training to other clinical staff in the facility.
- Monitor treatment outcomes, patient satisfaction, and continually seek ways to improve the quality of care provided.
- Abide by ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements related to dental practice, including patient confidentiality, informed consent, and adherence to professional codes of conduct.
- Master of Medicine in in their respective field of specialization from a recognized university.
- Specialist Recognition by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Board
- Registered, licensed, and retained by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Board.
- At least two years’ post-graduate working experience.
- Skills & competencies required
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with the medical team and patient interaction.
- Strong leadership and relationship-building skills
- Proficient computer skills for data entry, analysis, and report generation.
- Application letter
- Bachelors degree in medicine and surgery(MBChB)/MD or its equivalent from a recognized university.
- Certificate of registration from KMPDC
- Master of Medicine in in their respective field of specialization from a recognized university.
- Specialist Recognition by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ council(KMPDC)
- Annual retention licensing certificate from KMPDC
- Copy of national identification document(ID/Passport)
- Professional indemnity insurance
