Job summary

The Pharmaceutical Tele sales Representative drives sales growth by conducting professional outbound and inbound calls to pharmacies, clinics, hospitals, wholesalers, and chemists. The role ensures consistent revenue generation, excellent customer engagement, accurate order capture, and strong relationship management.

Job descriptions & requirements

A. Sales Generation & Customer Outreach 

· Conduct outbound sales calls to wholesalers, distributors, pharmacies, hospitals and institutions. 

· Receive inbound calls and professionally process customer orders. 

· Build long-term customer relationships that encourage repeat orders. 


B. Customer Relationship Management 

· Maintain accurate customer contact lists, call logs on the system. 

· Follow up on pending orders and deliveries. 

· Handle customer concerns / complaints and escalate complex issues for resolution. 


C. Product Knowledge & Market Awareness 

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical products, strengths and therapeutic categories. 

· Provide customers with accurate technical and product-related information. 


D. Order Processing & Documentation 

· Coordinate with warehouse and delivery teams for dispatch and fulfilment. 

· Track and update customers on order progress and expected delivery timelines. 

· Maintain complete records including call sheets, order logs, and sales documentation. 


E. Reporting & Performance Monitoring 

· Prepare daily and weekly tele sales activity reports. 

· Share customer feedback, competitor activity, and market insights. 

· Support sales forecasting based on call trends and customer buying patterns. 

· Customer complaints & Goods returned – Receiving, logging, investigating, resolving and documenting all product-related complaints, ensuring all quality issues are identified and addressed through root cause analysis & Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA), involving QA / Regulatory, and requiring timely, documented feedback to the customer, with records kept for specified periods.


F. Compliance & Quality Standards 

· Ensure communication aligns with pharmaceutical regulatory standards. 

· Adhere to internal SOPs on pricing, documentation, and promotional communication. 

· Uphold ethical pharmaceutical sales and customer engagement practices. 

 

Qualifications & Experience 

· Diploma in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical technology and Enrolled with Pharmacy & Poisons Board & with the professional body.

· Experience in pharmaceutical tele sales or medical sales is an added advantage. 

· Strong verbal communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills. 

· Proficiency in MS Office. 

· High professionalism, customer service, and detail orientation.
