Job Summary
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for production planning and implementing the most efficient, reliable and cost-effective production schedules and engineering processes to meet production requirements. He will analyze daily, weekly, and monthly and sales orders and plan production/work orders/schedule and processes and ensure execution

Job Description/Requirements
§ Ensuring optimal stock levels of premixes, feed additives, raw materials and finished products. Ensuring stock reconciliation is carried out promptly.
§ Feed formulation.
§ Checking and ensuring quality standards of incoming raw materials, premixes and feed additives.
§ Providing technical advice to clients.
§ Ensuring optimum efficiency of production staff in order to meet daily production targets.
§ Key technical advisor in Animal Nutrition.
§ Supervising production staff and providing capacity building.
§ Setting feed mill standard operating procedures.
§ Planning, control and implementation of feed mill budget.
§ Assigning production workers, technicians and supervisors’ duties on a daily basis.
§ Managing extension services: farm visits, farmers’ field days, attending technical issues to clients in the office and farms.
§ Overseeing servicing of clients’ orders (internal and external) by providing adequate stocks of finished products on a timely basis.
§ Review orders progress and adjust production schedules as appropriate.
§ Review and recommend modifications to production processes and operations to make sure that production output, standards, and quality targets are achieved.
§ Monitor and recommend necessary changes to the layout of plant, machinery and production processes and methods for any new equipment, materials or components.
§ Review and recommend appropriate measures to control and minimize waste levels and control production costs.
§ Review production practices, methods, processes, equipment and facilities and make proposals for improvements to ensure that they are the most efficient and effectively available.
§ Responsible for process improvement & productivity.
§ Implementation of policies and procedures in order to achieve the production departmental and company objectives
§ Ensure the manufacturing of products or goods is conducted efficiently, safely and meets the organization’s standards, KEBS standards and International Standards.
§ Implementation of good manufacturing practices (GMP)
§ Implementation of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
§ Ensuring timely repairs and maintenance of tools, machinery and plant equipment.
§ Ensuring periodic calibration of weighing scales and other measuring equipment.
§ Liaising with operations and logistics coordinators to ensure smooth flow of company operations.
§ Ensuring safety standards are observed at the production floor to avoid accidents, risks and other workplace hazards.
§ Ensuring compliance to safety standards at the production floor by ensuring the use of appropriate safety gear and equipment by workers.
§ Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and orderliness at the production floor and raw materials and finished goods stores.
§ Submission of daily, weekly and monthly production reports, stocks report, production operations reports, field visits’ reports and maintenance reports.
§ Ensure annual KEBS certification of all the finished products.
§ Ensure teamwork and discipline is maintained in production department.
§ Organizing continuous training and development for the production team.
§ Any other duties assigned from time to time.
