PROJECT MANAGER
Job summary
The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of Prime Telecoms' projects across ICT, electrical, surveillance, GSM, and FTTX service lines, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of assigned projects from initiation through to close-out, in line with client contracts and scope of work.
Develop detailed project plans, resource schedules, and budgets, and monitor performance against these throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate cross-functional project teams, including engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and support staff, to ensure smooth project execution.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned projects, managing expectations, communicating progress, and resolving issues promptly.
Monitor project budgets, track costs against forecasts, and manage variations, ensuring profitability targets are met.
Identify project risks proactively and develop mitigation plans to minimize schedule, cost, and quality impacts.
Ensure all projects comply with EHS requirements, regulatory standards, and company quality management procedures.
Oversee procurement and logistics planning for project materials and equipment, working closely with the supply chain team.
Prepare and present regular project status reports, dashboards, and updates to senior management and clients.
Conduct project close-out activities, including handover documentation, lessons learned, and client sign-off.
Mentor and guide Assistant Project Managers, site supervisors, and junior project staff.
Support business development efforts by contributing to project proposals, cost estimates, and technical solutions where required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
Professional Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is required.
Minimum 5–7 years' experience managing projects in telecommunications, ICT, electrical, or infrastructure sectors, with at least 2 years in a project leadership role.
Proven track record of delivering multi-disciplinary projects on time and within budget.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and MS Office Suite.
Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure (GSM, FTTX) and/or electrical and surveillance systems is highly desirable.
Valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively across East Africa.
