Research Technician I

The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a dynamic Research Technician I who will provide support operative to the pre-breeding and breeding operations. Who will be based in Nairobi, Kenya. About CIP CIP is a not-for-profit international agricultural research organization with a global mandate to conduct research on potatoes, sweetpotatoes, Andean root and tuber crops, and sustainable management of natural resources. One CGIAR science is dedicated to transforming food, land and water systems in a climate crisis, and it is carried out by 13 CGIAR Centers/Alliances in close collaboration with hundreds of partners, including national and regional research institutes, civil society organizations, academia, development organizations and the private sector. The Position:
â The Research Technician I will provide support to provide to the pre-breeding and breeding operations in Kenya. Key responsibilities: â¢Arrange necessary tools and equipment for experiments in different environments (field/greenhouses) before conducting the experiment.â¢Monitor and manage the supply chain used in experiments to ensure proper usage and disposal.â¢Perform daily measurements and weighings to update the experiment's database.â¢Operate laboratory equipment according to specific instructions to support the project.â¢Adhere to relevant health and safety CIP policies and procedures.
