Job summary

The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily front-of-house operations to ensure efficient service delivery, high customer satisfaction, and compliance with operational standards. The role supports staff supervision, service coordination, cost control, and overall profitability of the restaurant.

Job descriptions & requirements

Operational Management

· Supervise front-of-house operations and coordinate with kitchen staff during service

· Ensure smooth day-to-day restaurant operations

· Manage staff schedules and shift allocations

· Monitor service flow to ensure timely food and beverage delivery

· Oversee opening and closing procedures

· Ensure cleanliness and organization of dining and service areas

· Handle customer issues and support staff during busy service periods

· Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations

 

Quality & Service Management

· Ensure food presentation, portioning, and taste meet established standards

· Monitor service quality and staff performance

· Inspect cleanliness of dining areas, utensils, and equipment

· Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)

· Handle customer feedback and implement improvements

· Conduct routine inspections of service and kitchen areas

· Ensure consistency in overall customer experience

· Train all staff on SOPs and service standards

 

Profitability Management

· Monitor daily sales and support achievement of revenue targets

· Control operational costs including labor and wastage

· Assist in inventory management and stock control

· Reduce waste and improve operational efficiency

· Support upselling and promotion of high-margin items

· Assist in budgeting and financial reporting

· Ensure optimal use of resources to maximize profitability

 Compliance

· SOP adherence (%)

· Hygiene & food safety score (%)

· Temperature compliance (%)

· Checklist completion rate (%)

· Number of non-compliance incidents

 

 Service Quality Management

· Service time

· Order accuracy (%)

Profitability Management

· Total revenue / sales

· Profit margin (%)

· Food cost (%)

· Other controllable costs (%)

 

Working Relationships

· Works closely with Restaurant Manager, Kitchen Team, and Service Staff

· Coordinates across departments to ensure smooth and profitable operations
