Ufanisi DT SACCO Society Ltd is a tier three Savings and Credit Co-operative Society regulated with SASRA since 25th June, 2013. We are looking for self-driven and result oriented person to fill the position of Accountant.
The Accountant will provide strategic leadership in the management of the organization’s finances, by safeguarding the financial resources, financial policies and financial procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in a Business related field or Sacco Management
2. Professional qualification in either CPA
(K), ACCA, ACA or any other recognized professional accounting
qualification
3. Membership to a professional body
4. Minimum of 5 years’ experience of which 2 years should be in a supervisory role.
5. Knowledge of Sacco software systems will be an added advantage
6. Provide three referees
7. Certificate of good conduct
8. Tax compliance certificate
9. CRB compliance certificate
10. Salary will be within the Sacco Scale.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in close co-operation with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure that an appropriate financial policy framework is in place to guide the financial decision making in terms of clarity on turnover, profit, costs and investment and forward planning
- Contribute to the preparation of the manual budget and forecasts and formulation and implementation of divisional and departmental plans in line with the Sacco objectives
- Maintain records to meet legal and tax requirements as well as helping managers in planning for their departments.
- Co-ordinate and guide Senior Management and Heads of Departments in the preparation and evaluation of divisional/departmental annual budgets and consolidate the same into a budget.
- Continually review the Finance manuals and policy documents to ensure compliance with the strategy and the present challenges.
- Provide guidance on Loaning Policies and Activities in the Sacco
- Provide professional financial and corporate advice to Senior Management, the Board and its Committees.
- Prepare accurate and up to date financial and management accounting information to facilitate the preparation of reliable reports, budgets, business plans and management decisions.
- Create and maintain good and effective working relations with banks, financial institutions, statutory bodies and key/leading corporate clients
- Responsible for maintaining effective cash flow and treasury management.
- Establish and maintain effective control systems for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year end management and statutory accounts.
- Implement capital expenditure projects and asset acquisitions and maintaining an up to date assets register
- Oversee the overall accounting, record keeping, report preparation and monitoring of the finances.
- Participate in preparation and implementation of the Strategic Plan
- Supervising, training and appraising staff.
- Design and manage the implementation of effective systems for proper recording and billing, collection of all monies due, and institution of appropriate recovery action on any outstanding debts and loans
- Ensure balanced processes and procedures are in place to maintain internal control and internal equity.
- Management of the Society’s investment portfolio
- Management of the Society’s assets
- Liaise with Internal Audit Department to facilitate statutory audit
- File SASRA reports
