JOB SUMMARY
The role holder will coordinate the Company’s AML/CFT/CPF compliance, daily branch operations and routine office administration. This is a hands-on combined role within a small, regulated money remittance business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as the Company’s designated MLRO and coordinate routine communication and reporting with the CBK, FRC and other relevant authorities.
• Maintain AML/CFT/CPF policies, records, compliance reports and regulatory deadlines.
• Review unusual or suspicious transactions and make the necessary internal escalations or regulatory reports.
• Oversee customer due diligence, sanctions and PEP screening, transaction monitoring and record retention.
• Coordinate daily remittance and foreign exchange operations, including transaction verification, cash controls, reconciliations and end-of-day reporting.
• Supervise teller and customer service activities and ensure compliance with approval limits and maker-checker controls.
• Coordinate routine office administration, customer complaints and the daily work of the branch team.
• Support audits, regulatory inspections, staff training and implementation of corrective actions.
• Escalate material compliance, fraud, operational or security concerns to Senior Management or the Board.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Law or another relevant field.
• At least three years’ relevant experience in money remittance, forex bureau, banking, payments, microfinance or another regulated financial institution.
• Practical experience in AML compliance, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring or regulatory reporting.
• Previous MLRO, Compliance Officer or branch operations experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Kenyan AML/CFT/CPF and money remittance regulatory requirements.
• Experience dealing with the CBK or FRC is an advantage.
• Professional AML or compliance certification is an advantage but is not mandatory.

• Able to work independently and manage both compliance and operational responsibilities.
