  • Field sales experience at least 2 year or more

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to meet steep targets and ensure the reps do the same
  • Able to learn brand specs using online resources
  • Experience in submission of tenders an asset
  • Ability to self-drive, see the opportunities and push the company objectives forward
  • Degree in Science and or Nursing

Day to Day
  • Monitoring medical reps while in the market. Ensuring presence and accountability.
  • Conducting weekly sales meetings in order for reps to present their work with a view to evaluating, assisting and monitoring the quality of presence in the market.
  • Daily monitoring of the tracker system whilst they are in the field and raising any issues of inconsistency.
  • Reading and evaluating weekly sales reports with an aim to ensure Reps are following correct course with each account and that:
    • Each account is being given adequate time and same with each brand, fast moving vs specialized items
    • Where research is due to ensure it is being done in a timely manner and thorough
    • Samples and follow up being done in an accurate and timely manner
    • Each sales rep is putting in adequate time in the market, ensuring the key end user is being met
    • and consistency on each account and each item being worked on
    • Ensuring that existing sales of each account has is being maintained
    • Any obstacles the reps may be facing to be given support or assistance to push our product thru
    • Ensuring punctual attendance in the office and in the market.
    • Ensuring the sale is closed and assistance where there are obstacles.
    • CME and conference follow up is adequate and results obtained
    • Proper and thorough evaluation ongoing of competitors in the market
  • Leading the team

Sales Administration
  • Keeping track of all quotes/tenders given out and ensuring adequate feedback of the same
  • Assisting in collections of all accounts
  • Managing reports, sample out sheets, expense statements with scrutiny for accuracy
  • Ensuring that all work as given by director is attended to without reminder
  • Participation in submission of tenders especially research on the prices prior and ensuring of orders once tenders awarded
  • Managing logistics of supply in the region with various local suppliers with an aim to also ensuring frugal delivery of product as well as complying with all regional customs and licensing requirements

Must have qualities
  • Able to identify and establish new business
  • Able to grow existing brands and business
  • Understand market conditions and able to undertake relevant research
  • Must be a quick learner and possess commercial awareness
  • Able to maintain detailed and organized records and submit regular marketing reports
  • Able to present and communicate to prospective doctors/nurses on a one on one and formal setting.
  • Accountable, strong integrity and hard worker

Other
  • In charge of market research including brand and company preference, pricing, tender mechanisms etc
  • Responsible for developing, training and recruiting reps when necessary which means thorough learning of the brands will be a key aspect
  • Responsible for preparing sales plans and measuring sales rep performance
  • Representing the company at formal events and conferences as well as the product launches and organizing all details that go into such activities.
  • Able to do effective presentations with effective results with proper follow up
  • Able to manage 10 reps plus workload, administering their workload-reminders and corrections -a big aspect of this job
  • The position requires managing a team of 10 or more medical representatives with an aim to lead the company’s sales objectives forward and to meet both brand and volume based targets
  • Overtime expected where necessary
  • Strong people management skills necessary
  • Travel for a full week per month if necessary or region and up to 2 at times
  • Sales Experience and Degree in marketing or science equivalent
  • Able to meet individual and group targets
  • Excellence in administrative skills in order to manage up to 10 brands 10 sales reps each task per rep per product to ensure sales processes are moving in a consistent manner
  • Kenyan Passport
  • Overtime when necessary
  • Ok to use a tracker
