Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Lead Generation
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within freight forwarding, logistics, clearing, and forwarding services.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, cold calling, and market research.
- Schedule client meetings and presentations to promote company services.
- Assist in preparing quotations, proposals, and service agreements.
- Support the achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Follow up on client inquiries and service requests.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell company services.
Market Research
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities.
- Gather information on potential customers and emerging business opportunities.
- Maintain awareness of trade activities involving China, India, and East Africa.
Operational Coordination
- Liaise with operations teams to ensure timely service delivery.
- Assist clients in understanding shipping, customs clearance, and logistics processes.
- Ensure customer requirements are communicated effectively to relevant departments.
Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of leads, client interactions, and sales activities.
- Prepare weekly sales activity reports.
- Update CRM and customer databases regularly
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in sales, business development, logistics, clearing and forwarding, or customer relationship management.
- Basic understanding of freight forwarding and logistics operations.
- Familiarity with KRA customs procedures and import/export processes is an added advantage.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated and target[u1] -driven.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
