Job summary
Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for General Ledger posting, Ledger Reconciliation, Field Verification, farmer payments and Fixed Assets Register.

Location: Nyamira County, Sotik
Reports to: Chief Finance officer
Direct Reports: Assistant Accountants – Treasury, Fixed Assets & Verification
Key Responsibilities
a) Preparation of monthly management accounts
b) Verification of General ledger transactions
c) Production of monthly Management Information Reports.
d) Processing farmer payment every month by 1st.
e) Monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
f) Coordination and closure of month end procedure by 6 th every month.
g) Participation in both external and internal audits and follow up on implementation of audit recommendations
h) Preparation of various accounting schedules for review by the Chief Finance Officer
i) Analysis of business KPIs as well as execution of any adhoc analytical work.
j) Active participation in the annual budgeting process
k) Supervision and training of Accounts Assistants
l) Any other duty assigned from time to time by management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years hands on experience in accounting and finance preferably in Agriculture based organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with a minimum of 2 nd class.
- CPA-K
- Knowledge of Vat Act, Income Tax Act & Tax Procedures Act
- Knowledge of stock accounting
- Knowledge of ERP system especially Sage x3
