Role Summary

As the Technical Manager, you will lead critical departments in our Environmental Safety & Health Consultancy Company and oversee Environmental & Industrial Hygiene Monitoring in our in-house Laboratory. Your role spans leadership, compliance, project management, technical expertise, and client engagement in areas like ESIA/EIA Studies and Audits, Source Emissions, Ambient Air & Noise Quality, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety & Safety Audits & Trainings.

As the Senior Technical Manager, you are pivotal in strengthening our technical capabilities, operational efficiency, and global recognition in EHS, Sustainability & Climate Change. Join us in shaping the future


Leadership and Management:

● Provide strategic leadership to our Technical Department and its activities

● Provide strategic direction and leadership to the ESIA/EIA Studies and

● Environmental Audits, Source Emissions, Ambient Air & Noise Quality, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety Audits & Trainings.

● Anticipate and proactively address client needs, epitomizing the company's ambassadorial role.

● Overall supervision, guidance, and delegation of technical operation team duties.

● Supervise and mentor our team of head of sections, environmentalists, health and safety professionals, including industrial hygienists, environmental & safety engineers and specialists.

● Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the department.

● Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the department.

● Ensure that company policies and legal guidelines are clearly communicated to staff.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

● Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of all activities in the Company Environmental & Industrial Hygiene Laboratory.

● Prepare accurate and timely reports for regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.

● Conduct comprehensive reviews of emissions measurements and Environmental Assessment reports.

● Enforce rigorous quality control measures for data obtained from heads of sections.

● Safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of measurement data and essential documentation.

Project Management:

● Efficiently manage multiple EHS auditing & monitoring projects simultaneously, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

● Coordinate project teams, assign tasks, and monitor progress to achieve project objectives.

● Ensure compliance with project timelines, budget constraints, company set goals and client expectations.

Regulatory Compliance:

● Stay updated on local and international health and safety regulations and standards.

● Ensure all activities and operations are conducted in strict accordance with applicable laws and guidelines.

● Liaison with the regulatory authority when required.

● Stay current with local and international Environmental, OSH regulations, guidelines, and standards.

● Ensure that emissions, air ambient & noise quality, industrial hygiene data are accurately reported to regulatory bodies – NEMA, DOSHS

Technology and Innovation:

● Stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies in ESIA/EIA, SEA, EHS auditing & training source emissions testing, ambient air & noise quality monitoring, industrial hygiene practices.

● Drive the adoption of advanced tools and techniques to enhance data accuracy and efficiency.

● Coordinate and execute advanced in-house lab testing, contributing to the development of innovative methodologies.

Technical Expertise:

● Provide expert guidance on Industrial Hygiene, Health & Safety, ESIA, EIA, Air & Noise Quality and auditing methodologies.

● Review and approve technical reports, assessments, and audit findings for accuracy and quality.

● Lead the conceptualization and implementation of cutting-edge in-house testing protocols.

Business Development & Client Engagement:

● Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.

● Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, provide advisory services, and offer innovative solutions.

● Be proactive and liaise with the Client before the services due

● Identify opportunities for departmental growth and expansion of services.

● Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing and client presentations.

Training and Development:

● Mentor team members, fostering their professional growth and skill enhancement.

● Organize training sessions and workshops to keep the team updated on emerging trends and technologies.

● Development of the technical department in the Company and executive supervision of the works until the end product is delivered to the Client.

● Development and review of the Company's technical procedures and forms, ensuring proper communication and training for the technical staff.

Reporting and Documentation:

● Prepare comprehensive and accurate reports for internal and external stakeholders.

● Maintain detailed project documentation to ensure data integrity and security.

● Oversee the seamless generation of work records, field reports, and ancillary documents in a timely and effective manner.

● Optimize and streamline the process of report preparation to ensure optimal efficiency and clarity.

● Validate that all reports encapsulate the requisite level of detail to meet the highest industry standards.

● Implement Company the company procedure of product lifecycle

● Preside over the maintenance, security, and accessibility of complex measurement data and documentation.

● Maintain meticulous and comprehensive reporting records, enhancing accountability and transparency.

Equipment Upkeep and Maintenance:

● Develop and implement our laboratory equipment maintenance schedules to ensure accurate and reliable emissions testing, ambient air & quality and industrial hygiene monitoring.

● Coordinate routine inspections, calibrations, and repairs of monitoring equipment.

● Collaborate with the head of sections to promptly address equipment issues and minimize downtime.

● Ensure all equipment is in working condition, maintenance schedules are created and met, and all equipment is calibrated.



● Accumulate at least 10 years of progressive experience orchestrating environmental emissions measurements, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental & Social Major Projects, ESIA/SIA/EIA, strong understanding in Environmental & Safety data analysis and reporting.

● Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial Hygiene, health & safety, with 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.

● Minimum 10 years of experience in ESIA, EIA as Lead Expert, and audit studies, with 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.

● 5 years of experience in Stack Emission Testing and Ambient Air Quality, with 2 years in a leadership or managerial role (Advantage).

● At least 10 years’ experience conducting ESIA/RAP for Dams/water supply/sewerage, Oil & Gas, Infrastructure, Energy and other major projects as an Lead Environmentalist/Environmental Expert and Team Leader (advantage).

Education, Qualifications & Memberships:

● Bachelors and Master's or higher degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

● Bachelors and/or Master's degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or a related field will be an advantage.

● Registered Lead Expert by the National Environmental (Minimum 10 years as lead expert) Management Authority with a valid practicing license. Registered with the Environment Institute of Kenya.

● Certified by NEBOSH or a similar body as an Industrial Hygienist, OSH Auditor, Air Quality Monitor (Advantage).

● Air & Noise Modeling Certification will be an advantage.

● Strong understanding of environmental and social impact assessment methodologies and regulatory frameworks.

● Thorough understanding of ambient air & noise quality & industrial hygiene regulations, emissions testing methodologies, and monitoring techniques.

● Display expertise in diverse industries & sectors, including Mining, Construction, Manufacturing, Power, Infrastructure, Oil, Petroleum, and Energy.

● Professional certification or membership in EIK, ECEA, NEMA, NACA, and other relevant associations.

Required Skills:

● Display consummate analytical finesse, transforming data into strategic insights.

● Demonstrate mastery of computer applications and software essential for EHS, Sustainability & Climate Change industry.
