Job Description/Requirements
- Maintain accurate records of all stock items, including receipts, issues, returns, and transfers.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability and prevent overstocking or stockouts.
- Classify and organize stock in the warehouse for easy retrieval and minimal losses.
- Track the movement of goods into and out of the warehouse.
- Reconcile physical stock with system records regularly and investigate any discrepancies.
- Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) or other inventory rotation methods to minimize expiry or obsolescence.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain proper documentation for all stock transactions in line with company policies.
- Prepare and submit regular inventory reports to management, highlighting stock levels, variances, and trends.
- Assist in audits by providing accurate stock records and supporting documentation.
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Supervise warehouse staff in proper stock handling, storage, and packaging.
- Coordinate with transport/logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of stock to various locations.
- Work closely with the procurement and supply chain teams to forecast inventory needs.
- Support the finance team by providing accurate stock valuations and documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors for stock deliveries and resolve any discrepancies.
- Identify opportunities to improve stock management processes, reduce wastage, and increase efficiency.
- Assist in implementing or upgrading stock management software/ERP systems.
- Conduct periodic reviews of inventory procedures and recommend improvements.
- Mentor and supervise junior warehouse staff or assistants.
- Provide guidance on best practices for stock handling, storage, and documentation.
- Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in inventory, stock, or warehouse management.
- Proficiency in stock management software, ERP systems, or inventory control tools.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
