TEACHERS (3 POSITIONS) – JONATHAN GLOAG ACADEMY (JGA)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare lesson plans, lesson notes, timetables, schemes of work and maintain academic standards in the school
• Teach the subjects of specialization and impart knowledge, skills and attitudes to the learner
• Evaluate learners in subjects of specialization and prepare them for national and other examinations
• Introduce new ideas and programmes to ensure improvement in teaching and learning in the subjects of specialisation
• Ensure consistency and improvement in curriculum delivery through teamwork and collaborative planning
• Serve as a role model and maintain learner discipline to create a conducive environment for learning
• Provide guidance and counselling services to learners to instil norms and values for harmonious co-existence
• Ensure safety and health of learners
• Ensure cleanliness of the school compound and tidiness of learners
• Participate in workshops/seminars to share ideas and enhance knowledge 
• Engage in learners curricular and co-curricular activities to identify nurture and develop talents
• Organize remedial actions to support learners with performance gaps
• Provide new ideas and programmes to ensure improvement in teaching and learning in the subjects of specialisation
• Embrace teamwork through collaborative planning and teaching to ensure consistency and improvement in curriculum delivery
• Collect, collate and maintain all school records such as enrolment, teaching and learning resources, evaluation records, attendance registers.  
• Support marketing team with marketing activities.
• Other duties as assigned by School Management

Other:

• Any other duties assigned by Head Teacher or HOD/ Management
• Attend team and staff meetings

Qualifications and Experience

• Must be a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (BEd)/ Science (BSc) holder or equivalent from a university recognized by the government of Kenya
• Meets Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution
• Should be an excellent teacher with at least 2 years of proven experience with curriculum-based competency (CBC) in a similar role
• Combination of the following subjects is mandatory requirement (for the three roles): 

             I. Mathematics, Science & Agriculture

             II. Kiswahili, Social Studies, Science & Agriculture 

             III. Kiswahili & CRE

• Registered by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC)
• Excellent Computer Skills, Information Systems, MS Office and Databases
