Job Description/Requirements
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Treasury Team Lead
Direct Reports: N/A
Internal Relationships: Treasury Team Lead, Finance Manager, GCFO
External Relationships: Banks
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain treasury records in strict compliance with GZI's policies and procedures.
Liaise with GZI's Bankers to determine current investment profiles and liquidity and ensure optimal use of GZI's funds.
Assist in the initiation of and response to correspondence with bankers and ensure proper documentation.
Analyze exchange rate fluctuations, currency exposure and cash flow forecasts to enable foreign currency hedging.
Collate data on exchange rates and risk exposure to facilitate the development of strategies to manage the risk.
Analyze global market data and interest rates to assist with short and long-term investment portfolio strategy.
Analyze economic conditions, the financial climate, and changes in corporate requirements to provide the company with up-to-date market intelligence.
Assist in treasury management, cash management and other general support.
Coordinate/participate in special projects relating to managing debt and equity gearing for the company.
Obtain and analyse periodic (daily, weekly, and monthly) bank statements from GZI's bankers and prepare daily bank reconciliation thereon.
Reconcile balances, charges, deductions, and payments to the ledger.
Identify unexplained lodgments, withdrawals and obtain necessary clarifications from assigned bank personnel.
Trace unreasonable items and errors and obtain approval to correct and post necessary entries.
Ensure proper safekeeping and documentation of all bank statements.
Act as the custodian of GZI's cheques and other treasury instruments books and ensure their safekeeping.
Obtain and complete Form M or Form A for GZI's foreign exchange requirements.
Relate with the banks to ensure GZI's Letter of Credit (LC) requirements are promptly attended to.
Track and prepare periodic reports on the status of opened LCs
Operate the petty cash system for GZI.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.

Documents, implements and maintains the requirements of the Quality, Food Safety, Environment, Health and Safety management systems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Education
Minimum of a first degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related discipline
Relevant professional certifications e.g. Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or its equivalent is required
Required Experience
Minimum of 5 years cognate experience
