Job Description/Requirements
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Operations
· Initiates and implements approved inventory management policies and procedures to guide proper handling of warehoused items.
· Oversees safe and efficient receipt of raw materials including proper identification and documentation.
· Ensures the proper storage of GZI’s finished products to eliminate damage to cans.
· Oversees proper and efficient scheduling of material release from the warehouse.
· Enforces adherence to all warehousing and handling legislation requirements.
· Coordinates request generation; liaises with user departments and the Procurement Manager in getting necessary required info and on-time delivery.
· Tracks and Monitors Minimum and Critical Stock Level and the replenishment process.
· Setups layout and ensures efficient space utilisation in the warehouse.
· Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
· Controls inventory levels by coordinating physical counts and reconciling with data storage system.
Product Delivery and Logistics
· Develops and implements logistics strategies, budget, policies, procedures and requirements to deliver the target benefits and financial savings.
· Receives delivery plans from GZI’s customers and schedules deliveries according to them Oversees and coordinates the delivery of cans to customer’s locations and prepares delivery reports.
· Liaises with clients, suppliers and transport companies for prompt delivery of customers goods.
· Ensures customers receive products in good condition.
· Manages customer service requests promptly and resolves issues quickly.
· Receives and analyses feedback received from customers and monitors the quality of services provided.
Reporting
· Prepares and submits timely reports to management on all warehouse activities.
· Prepares timely reports and statistics regularly (In/Out status report, dead stock report etc.)
Health, Safety and Environment
· Maintains standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.
· Maintains the QMS and FSSC standard requirements for GZI.
People Management
· Manages, coaches and develops a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers results, added value and continuous improvements.
· Sets departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
· Assists in the development, orientation, coaching, and motivation and performance management of employees in warehouse.
Integrated Management System
Documents, implements and maintains the requirements of the Quality, Food safety, Environment, Health and safety management systems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Education
· Minimum of a First Degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Economics or any other relevant discipline
· Relevant professional qualification e.g. Association for Operations Management, certified for Production and Inventory Management (ACIPS CPIM), Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CPIS) is required.
Required Experience
· Minimum of 10 years cognate experience within the manufacturing industry
· At least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
