Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to support the finance team in managing the company’s day-to-day accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance, and contributing to smooth financial processes within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, follow up on payments, and manage outstanding receivables
• Assist in preparing bank reconciliations and maintaining cash flow records
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and general ledger updates
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation
• Assist with tax filings, including VAT, GST, and withholding taxes, in compliance with local regulations
• Support the payroll process, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting (if applicable)
• Handle petty cash, staff reimbursements, and employee expense reports
• Liaise with vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding financial queries
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation
• Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting procedures and internal controls
• Perform general administrative and clerical support duties related to the finance function
Required Skills and Competencies:
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, Tally)
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
Qualifications and Experience:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1–3 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance support role
• Familiarity with bookkeeping, invoicing, and bank reconciliation processes
• Studying towards or holding a professional qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CPA) is a plus
