ABOUT THE COMPANY

Runda Oaks Medical is a small private medical centre which is to be opened in Runda Nairobi. The clinic will offer primary care services through a team of General practitioners, paediatricians, nurses, pharmacists and a psychologist.

JOB SUMMARY

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Director to lead medical affairs at our new small private primary care clinic in Nairobi. This is a unique opportunity to shape the clinical direction of a new primary care clinic focusing on bespoke health care. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, a paediatrician, a pharmacist and other allied health colleagues.As Medical Director, you will serve as the Principal General Practitioner, providing direct patient care while also holding overall responsibility for the clinical governance and medical standards of the clinic with our support. You will play a key leadership role in the establishment of a new clinic, contributing to the development of clinical protocols, systems, and processes from the ground up.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the Principal General Practitioner, providing high-quality outpatient primary care.Provide clinical leadership and oversight for all medical staff and services within the clinic.Lead and support the establishment of a new clinic, including setup of clinical protocols, standards, and workflows.Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, ethical, and clinical governance standards.Mentor and support clinical staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety.Participate in strategic planning and decision-making related to medical service delivery.Monitor and maintain quality assurance and clinical audit processes.Minimum RequirementsMedical Doctor (MBChB or equivalent), registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC), with a valid practicing license.At least 8 years of post-qualification clinical experience.At least 3 years of experience in a senior leadership role (e.g., Medical Director, Head of Department, Clinic Lead, or similar).Strong general practice / primary care clinical skills.Proven leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.Experience in clinic setup, service development, or operational leadership is an added advantage.Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, patient-centered approach.What We OfferThe opportunity to become a business partner for a new establishment. A leadership role in a growing, patient-focused private practice.Full-time position with no night shift requirements.The opportunity to shape a new clinic from its establishment.Competitive salary.A collaborative working environment alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team.
