Job Title: Customs Clearance Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Customs Clearance Assistant to join our team at our building hardware shop. The Customs Clearance Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate clearance of goods through customs and maintaining compliance with customs regulations and requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and analytical skills and a passion for ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and efficiency in customs clearance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

● Prepare and submit customs documentation, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and requirements

● Liaise with customs officials and freight forwarders to ensure timely clearance of goods

● Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding customs clearance status and requirements

● Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customs clearance processes and procedures

● Monitor and report on changes in customs regulations and requirements, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations

● Assist with the resolution of customs clearance issues and disputes

● Provide administrative support to the customs clearance department as needed

● Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless customs clearance processes and effective operations

Qualifications:

● High school diploma or equivalent, with additional education or certification in customs clearance or a related field preferred

● Proven experience in customs clearance, preferably in a retail or hardware environment

● Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

● Strong attention to detail and accuracy

● Knowledge of customs regulations and procedures

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team

● Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other customs clearance software

● Familiarity with building hardware products and materials is a plus
