Fides Kenya Ltd, part of Dummen Orange, is a leading company in growers and exporters of fresh cut flowers from Kenya to international markets. Fides Kenya operates under the trade name Dummen Orange. At present Fides Kenya Limited operates on 22 hectares where the Chrysanthemums, Geranium, Perennials, Osteospermum, Asters and filler plants cuttings are grown. Our workforce has grown over the years to the current level of about 1000 employees. We are located 29 km south-east of Embu town and 169 km north-east of Nairobi, approximately 50 km south of Mount Kenya.

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Driver to support our export and logistics operations by transporting goods, cuttings, materials, and passengers safely and on time. The role involves maintaining cool chain conditions where required, completing necessary transport documentation, and ensuring vehicles are well-maintained, clean, and compliant with safety standards.This position requires someone who is disciplined, safety-focused, and professional, with the ability to handle responsibilities independently and represent the company well on the road.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Transport company supplies, raw materials, cuttings, and passengers to designated locations safely and on time.Adhere to the driver’s code of conduct, traffic laws, and all safety regulations.Perform regular safety checks on vehicles before and after each trip to ensure roadworthiness.Handle passengers’ grievances or concerns professionally and promptly.Participate in trainings and courses to remain updated on developments in the transport industry.Performance CriteriaValid and up-to-date driving and vehicle licenses.On-time and safe delivery/collection of shipments, visitors, and company goods.Controlled and well-maintained cool chain in the truck.Accurate and complete documentation prior to transporting goods and passengers.Timely offloading and fueling of the vehicle.Cleanliness and proper maintenance of assigned vehicles.Up-to-date vehicle maintenance checklist.Daily vehicle checklist completion.Full compliance with NTSA, the Traffic Act, County bylaws, KENHA, and Airport Security regulations.QualificationsKCSE Certificate, minimum grade C+.Valid driver’s license classes B, C, and D with a clean driving record.Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and regional routes.Ability to operate a range of vehicles, from small delivery vans to large trucks.3–5 years of experience as a full-time heavy truck driver.Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
