Job summary
To provide strategic financial leadership and robust oversight of the company’s financial health, ensuring data-driven unit economics, regulatory compliance, and optimized capital allocation. The role is responsible for safeguarding narrow margins by driving cost efficiency and maximizing asset utilization
Job descriptions & requirements
- Margin & Cost Optimization: Tracking and controlling heavy operational variables—including volatile fuel costs, port clearance fees, demurrage, and fleet maintenance—to protect bottom-line profitability.
- Asset & Route Efficiency: Analyzing data to ensure high asset utilization, monitoring metrics like revenue per kilometer or yield per trade lane to advise operations on profitable routing.
- Working Capital & Cash Flow Management: Managing specific billing cycles & balancing credit terms
- Risk & Compliance: Ensuring absolute compliance with local tax laws, customs regulations and statutory obligations (such as NSSF, SHIF, and Housing Levy in the Kenyan context).
- System-First Governance: Designing and enforcing strict internal financial controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to mitigate leakages, fraud, and billing discrepancies.
