Job Summary
Brighter Monday Kenya Limited, has designed a youth skilling and employment impact project to improve employability of the Kenyan youth aged 18 to 35 years and transition them into dignified employment.
Your mission is to provide strategic, technical and operational guidance to the implementation of the youth engagement goals of Brightermonday Kenya by working with the learning and development team, national partners, universities, corporate bodies and parastatals to ensure that projects meet performance-based targets and generate an overall increase in the quality of candidates in our database and of the labour market’s workforce.
To support this goal, we seek a Head of Youth Engagement and Learning. The role’s mission is to identify, develop, and administer strategic partnerships with other organizations to realize key objectives, gain operational efficiencies, address unmet market needs, to achieve placement numbers and identify new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Organizational
● Ensure ongoing Programmatic excellence by enhancing, fleshing out, and implementing programmes in line with organisational strategy, recommending timelines and resources needed to achieve goals
● Expand revenue generating activities to support existing programmes and the growth of the Learning and Development Team, cultivate existing relationships and develop new funder relationships
Program Implementation
● Provide technical leadership and guidance in the implementation and management of innovative youth engagement initiatives aligned with Brightermonday Kenya youth engagement impact goal.
● Participate in the community consultation and development of a strategic approach towards youth engagement.
● Provide technical inputs to/ during planning, organising and coordination of project monitoring processes, assessments, surveys, research and evaluations.
● Support the team in ensuring that the overall goal and specific objectives of the youth engagement component of Jobberman are achieved.
● Develop and submit activity plans in time for review and prior to implementation
● Produce budgets and cash forecasts for youth engagement and financial inclusion activities
● Compile and submit summary of evidence based highlights/ success stories on youth engagement. This will be incorporated in the overall marketing strategy of Brightermonday Kenya.

● Sustain a work environment of mutual respect between you and other team members as well as provide them with information, tools and other resources to improve performance and achieve excellence.
● Build the technical capacity of team members in youth advocacy, development and engagement relevant to the implementation of the Brightermonday Kenya’s youth engagement goal through training and continuous mentoring.

Key Skills & Competencies Skills
● BSC in a business related discipline
● Proven 5-7 years work experience in program coordination, execution and management
● Demonstrated experience designing and delivering youth engagement programmes
● Ability to converse with different levels of professional
● Proper understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation systems and research, including participatory research approaches
Competencies
● Excellent speaking, writing, editing and analytical skills and ability to formulate well-targeted document
● A clear understanding of contemporary development issues particularly those related to economic opportunities for youths
● Innovative approach to problem solving
● Excellent strategic fundraising ability
● Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
