POSITION: RESEARCH OFFICER - (1 POST TO BE LOCATED IN SIAYA, HOMABAY AND KISUMU COUNTIES)
JOB PURPOSE
The Research Officer will be responsible for recruiting and enrolling participants into the study in the selected facility in Siaya, Homabay, Kisumu Counties. He/she will directly report to the Study coordinator
SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Screening, recruiting and enrolling participants to the study.
- Collect data per approved Standard Operating Procedures and input into the Android tablet system (RedCap)
- Ensure that data collected is accurate, complete, properly handled, and stored in accordance with study SOPs and confidentiality stipulations.
- Prepare daily clinic summaries of women screened and recruited into the study
- Ensuring that the study participants receive adequate intervention and are compliant to the study procedures
- Understanding the study SOPs and always ensuring compliance with the SOPS
- Train the facility staff on PM+
- Submit twice-weekly summaries of recruitment and enrollment into the study to the study coordinator.
Essential requirements:
- Must have a Diploma in Community Health, Social Work or Counselling Psychology from a recognized institution.
- Must be Fluent in English, Kiswahili, and Dholuo (common languages among our research participants)
- Must have at least two years of research experience.
- Must have excellent skills in REDCAP for data collection
- Must be conversant with the study area
- Should have excellent computer skills
- MUST have a certificate in Human Subjects Protection
- Excellent communication skills: Must be able to communicate regularly with the study coordinator via email and Zoom.
- Team player with the ability to work closely with other study staff at the site
- Must be in a position to report immediately.
