LAB TECHNICIAN
Job summary
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Lab Technician to support testing, analysis, and experiments in the lab. You’ll handle samples, operate equipment, record data accurately, and ensure the lab runs safely and meets quality standards.
Job descriptions & requirements
1. Sample Testing & Analysis
- Collect, prepare, and process samples for testing according to SOPs
- Run routine tests using lab equipment like spectrophotometers, pH meters, balances, microscopes, and analyzers
- Perform chemical, physical, and microbiological tests depending on the industry
- Record results accurately and enter data into LIMS or lab notebooks
2. Equipment & Materials Management
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab instruments daily
- Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and report faults
- Manage inventory of chemicals, reagents, and consumables
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and disposal of materials per safety guidelines
3. Quality & Safety Compliance
- Follow Good Laboratory Practice [GLP], ISO, or GMP standards as applicable
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Participate in internal audits and quality control checks
- Report deviations, incidents, and non-conformances immediately
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare test reports and certificates of analysis
- Maintain accurate, traceable records for audits and traceability
- Assist in drafting SOPs and work instructions
