Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer (AutoCAD & Solid Works)
Location: Nairobi Experience: 3–8 Years (or as required)

Key
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD and 3D models using SolidWorks.
- Design
sheet metal components, enclosures, and fabricated structures.
- Prepare
fabrication drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and assembly
instructions.
- Coordinate
with shop floor teams for production feasibility and process
improvements.
- Work
closely with CNC programmers/operators to ensure design
compatibility with machining processes.
- Optimize
designs for manufacturability, cost, and performance.
- Conduct
tolerance analysis and ensure proper fitment of components.
- Support
prototyping, testing, and product development activities.
- Review
and revise designs based on feedback from production and quality
teams.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company design guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting).
- Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks (3D Modelling, sheet metal, assemblies).
- Hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication (bending, cutting, punching, welding & powder coating).
- Good understanding of CNC machining (turning, milling, basic programming concepts).
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in enclosure design / telecom / data centre/ fabrication industry.
- Exposure to ERP systems and documentation processes.
- Knowledge of simulation tools (optional).
