JOB PURPOSE:
The Pool Attendant is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, cleanliness, and safe operation of the swimming pool and surrounding areas at the Social Club. The role requires hands-on management of pool hygiene, water quality, and equipment to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for all users.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pool Cleaning & Maintenance
- Carry out daily and weekly pool cleaning routines including skimming, vacuuming, and removal of debris
- Ensure the pool and surrounding areas are consistently clean, orderly, and presentable
- Clean poolside surfaces, drainage areas, and related facilities
2. Water Quality Management
- Regularly test and monitor pool water chemistry (pH, chlorine, and other chemical levels)
- Adjust chemical levels as required to maintain safe and compliant standards
- Maintain accurate records of water testing and chemical usage
3. Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Operate and monitor pool pumps, filtration systems, and related equipment
- Perform basic maintenance checks and identify faults or irregularities
- Report and coordinate repairs or servicing needs with management
4. Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all pool safety, hygiene, and operational standards
- Identify potential hazards and take corrective action promptly
- Support enforcement of pool usage rules to ensure user safety
5. General Support Duties
- Assist in maintaining overall pool facility standards in line with club expectations
- Support smooth day-to-day operations of the pool area
REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma in any field
- Minimum 1 year experience in pool maintenance or a similar role
- Basic training in pool maintenance or related field (preferred)
- Lifeguard, First Aid, or CPR certification is an added advantage
- Practical knowledge of pool cleaning and water treatment processes
- Basic understanding of pool equipment (pumps, filtration systems)
- Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Reliability and ability to work independently
- Good communication skills
