Academic
& Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications or an advanced degree are an added advantage.
Experience
- Proven
experience as a Production Manager or in a similar role within the
manufacturing industry.
- Strong
knowledge of wood product manufacturing (assembly, finishing, and
packaging, Machine operations) and quality control standards.
- Proficient in production management software and tools.
Technical Skills
- Deep
knowledge of the machinery, assembly, finishing, and packaging
processes specific to high-quality wood products.
- The
ability to develop and implement complex production plans and
schedules to meet delivery deadlines
- Proficiency
in ensuring the efficient utilization of raw materials, equipment,
and labor to maximize productivity.
- Technical
ability to conduct investigations into production issues or
incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Proficiency
in conducting regular safety audits to identify potential hazards
and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Skill in developing strategies to reduce labor and material costs while enhancing overall output
Responsibilities & Requirements
1.
Production & Operations Management
- Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
- Ensure efficient utilization of raw materials, equipment, and labor.
- Monitor and adjust plans to optimize productivity and minimize waste.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure a timely supply of raw materials and maintain inventory accuracy.
2. Team Leadership & Performance
- Lead workshop staff with equity and fairness, providing clear direction and support.
- Foster a positive environment promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
- In liaison with HR, conduct performance evaluations and identify opportunities for skill development.
3. Quality Control
- Institute and lead the quality control and assurance committee.
- Enforce strict quality measures throughout the production process to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
- Investigate and resolve production issues or quality concerns promptly.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the use of PPE.
- Conduct regular safety audits, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions through root cause analysis.
- Provide training to promote safety awareness and best practices.
5. Process Improvement
- Identify and recommend opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Drive Lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
