Job Purpose:
The Senior Claims Assistant will be responsible for the end-to-end handling and processing of all motor, non-motor, marine, and other insurance claims. This role ensures timely and accurate documentation, follow-up, system updates, and closure of claims files in line with company procedures and insurance industry standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
• A diploma or Degree in Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in an insurance claims environment.
• Strong understanding of motor, non-motor, and marine insurance claims processes.
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and insurance claims management systems.
• High attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
• Claims Registration:
Register all types of claims (motor, non-motor, marine, and others) in the system promptly and accurately as directed by the Head of Department.
• Documentation Follow-up:
Liaise with insured clients to collect and verify all necessary documentation for claims processing.
• Claims Documentation Review:
Ensure all claim forms and supporting documents are complete, accurate, and properly filed before submission to insurance companies.
• Claim Analysis:
Review and analyze claim documents to ensure compliance with requirements before forwarding to the insurer.
• Communication with Insurance Companies:
o Follow up with insurers for claim status updates and responses.
o Obtain repair authorities and release letters for motor claims where applicable.
o Coordinate with appointed assessors for non-motor claims to ensure timely submission of reports.
• Discharge Vouchers:
o Follow up with insurers for the issuance of discharge vouchers and confirm their accuracy.
o Coordinate with insured clients to sign the discharge vouchers in a timely manner.
• System Management:
o Update all claim records in the internal system to ensure easy tracking and reference.
o Close claims files in the system upon completion of the claim process.
• File Management:
o File all closed claims appropriately.
o Retrieve archived files when required for reference or audits.
• Payments Follow-up:
Follow up with insurance companies to ensure prompt settlement of claims once discharge vouchers are signed.
• Other Duties:
Perform any other duties or tasks as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Salary: 50,000 – 70,000 gross
