JOB TITLE: SIM Card Packaging Officer
REPORTING TO: Packaging Supervisor
LOCATION:  Nairobi, Kenya

The Purpose of the Job
The SIM Card Packaging Officer is the final critical link in our production chain before products reach our clients. This role is responsible for accurately packaging finished SIM cards and related collateral  materials in strict accordance with customer specifications. You will ensure that every order is verified, securely handled, and meticulously prepared for dispatch, maintaining impeccable inventory accuracy, robust product security, and timely order fulfilment. By delivering perfectly packaged products, you directly enable our telecommunications partners to launch their services seamlessly.

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities
  • Package finished SIM cards and associated materials (leaflets, PIN mailers, activation guides) accurately and efficiently, strictly following approved customer specification sheets and work instructions.
  • Meticulously verify quantities, packaging materials, and product labelling against work orders to ensure 100% accuracy before sealing any package.
  • Conduct a final visual inspection of products before packaging to confirm that all SIMs meet quality standards, are free from physical defects, and match the correct batch.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date packaging and inventory records, logging batch numbers, quantities, and completion times for full traceability.
  • Prepare completed orders for dispatch, ensuring they are correctly labelled, securely sealed, and properly staged for collection by logistics partners.
  • Ensure the secure handling of products throughout the entire packaging process, strictly adhering to information security and confidentiality protocols to prevent theft, loss, or data compromise.
  • Immediately report any discrepancies, shortages, overages, or damaged materials to the supervisor to enable prompt reconciliation and corrective action.
  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness, order, and organisation within the packaging area, ensuring all tools, materials, and equipment are stored correctly and safely.
  • Actively support stock reconciliation and inventory control activities, participating in periodic cycle counts to ensure physical stock matches system records.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all information security and confidentiality requirements, safeguarding sensitive customer data, activation keys, and production codes at all times.
  • Consistently meet assigned productivity and delivery targets, balancing speed with accuracy to ensure on-time order fulfilment without compromising quality.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting practical enhancements to packaging workflows, material handling, and waste reduction.

Person Specification
Educational & Professional Qualifications
  • Education: A Diploma or Certificate in a relevant discipline, such as Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Warehouse Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in packaging, warehousing, logistics, or production finishing roles. Experience in a high-security manufacturing environment, card personalization, or FMCG packaging is a distinct advantage.

Equipment Handling: Familiarity with basic packaging equipment (e.g., heat sealers, shrink-wrapping machines, labelling guns) is a significant added advantage.

Salary:

  • An additional shift allowance will be provided for officers working non- standard hours or rotating shifts where applicable.
