STOCK CONTROLLER
Job summary
<p>The Stock Controller is responsible for overseeing and coordinating movement of bottle inventory across the receiving yard, dirty store, and clean store to ensure accurate stock management, proper handling, and efficient movement of bottles from receipt to dispatch. The role supervises casual staff involved in receiving, sorting, processing, storage, and packaging of bottles while ensuring accurate stock records in the ERP system (Odoo), computing wages for production casuals, maintaining quality standards, and enforcing health, safety, and housekeeping requirements.</p>
Job descriptions & requirements
- Supervise casual workers involved in receiving, sorting, decapping, washing process and packaging of finished bottles.
- Receive and verify bottles from suppliers against delivery notes, quantities and quality of bottles supplied and other supporting documentation.
- Inspect, sort, and classify bottles by brand, type, color, and SKUs while identifying and segregating non-conforming or damaged bottles for further processing.
- Ensure accurate recording of all inventory movements including receipts, transfers, issuance, and dispatch in the ERP system (Odoo).
- Coordinate issuance of bottles to the production team and receive returned or unprocessed bottles at the end of each shift.
- Oversee proper storage, stacking, labeling, and organization of bottle inventory in the receiving yard, dirty store, and clean store.
- Receive finished products from production, reconcile quantities both physically and on the ERP system (Odoo), coordinate packaging, and preparation for dispatch.
- Generate sales orders and ensure proper documentation for dispatch including delivery notes and gate passes.
- Computation of weekly wages for production staff and address any employee inquiries related to wages.
- Monitor stock levels, participate in stock counts, investigate variances, and prepare inventory movement reports.
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping, enforce safety procedures and PPE usage, and report hazards or unsafe practices.
- Diploma in Supply Chain, Stores Management, or a related field is an added advantage.
- Minimum of a C+ in K.C.S.E and a B plain in Mathematics.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in stock control within manufacturing, recycling, or FMCG operations.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (Odoo advantage)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office such as Ms Excel, Ms Word, Ms Powerpoint.
- Ability to manage a team and coordinate warehouse activities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
