- Measure, cut, sew, and assemble fabrics used in event décor such as drapes, curtains, chair covers, tablecloths, and linens.
- Customize fabric items according to event themes, venue dimensions, and client specifications.
- Alter and adjust décor fabrics to ensure proper fit and presentation.
- Mend and repair damaged or worn-out event fabrics and décor materials.
- Reinforce stitching and seams to ensure durability during event use and repeated installations.
- Maintain fabric quality through proper handling and minor restoration work.
- Work closely with the events décor team to prepare fabric installations for event setups.
- Assist in dressing venues with drapery, fabric backdrops, and decorative textiles.
- Ensure all fabric elements are clean, neatly pressed, and ready for installation.
- Ensure all finished products meet high standards of quality, precision, and aesthetics.
- Pay close attention to stitching details, symmetry, and fabric alignment.
- Conduct final checks on all fabric items before event deployment.
- Manage fabric stock, sewing materials, threads, and tailoring tools efficiently.
- Recommend replenishment of materials when needed.
- Ensure minimal waste of fabric through proper cutting and planning.
- Work closely with decorators, event planners, and production teams.
- Understand design requirements and translate them into accurate fabric outputs.
- Support the team in delivering visually appealing and well-coordinated event setups.
- Use sewing machines and tailoring tools safely and responsibly.
- Maintain a clean and organized working area.
- Follow safety guidelines when handling cutting tools and heavy fabrics.
- Diploma in Tailoring, Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field is an advantage.
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience as a tailor, preferably in events décor, curtain making, upholstery, or related fabric work.
- Experience working with large-scale fabric installations is an added advantage.
- Strong sewing and garment construction skills.
- Experience working with industrial sewing machines.
- Good understanding of fabric types, textures, and handling techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and finishing quality.
- Ability to interpret design instructions and measurements accurately.
