JOB TITLE: TECHNICAL ENGINEER (SOLAR ENERGY)
NATURE OF JOB: FULL TIME
INDUSTRY: RENEWABLE ENERGY
SALARY: KSHS. 30,000-40,000
JOB LOCATION: MOMBASA ROAD
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical assistance to customers and field teams on solar energy systems and energy storage products.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to installation, performance, and system operation.
After-Sales Service:
- Offer reliable after-sales support including system check-ups, maintenance, and service follow-ups.
- Ensure timely resolution of customer concerns and system faults.
Customer Training & Education:
- Conduct hands-on training sessions for customers and end-users on product operation, maintenance, and safety.
- Create and provide user manuals and training documentation as needed.
Installation Oversight:
- Support installation teams by offering remote or onsite technical guidance to ensure proper system setup.
- Verify installation quality and system performance as per company standards.
Collaboration with Sales Team:
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure technical specifications match customer requirements.
- Assist in pre-sales technical support including site surveys and system sizing recommendations.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare regular service reports, incident logs, and feedback reports to the technical manager.
- Maintain accurate customer service records and documentation for all interactions.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in the solar industry in a technical support or after- sales service role.
- Practical experience with solar PV systems and energy storage technologies is a strong advantage.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Good understanding of solar PV system components (inverters, batteries, charge controllers, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct training and explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
