JOB SUMMARY
To leadthe daily production operations of a precast concrete manufacturing plant,ensuring precision, structural integrity, and efficiency. This role requires adeep technical understanding of precast systems, the ability to interpretcomplex structural and workshop drawings, and the skill to support clientconsultations with expert advice.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key ResponsibilitiesA. Precast Production & Technical Supervision (Primary Focus - 75%)· Overseethe end-to-end manufacturing process for precast elements (e.g., panels, beams, slabs, blocks, pavers etc) from mould preparation to curing and storage.· Lead,train, and manage the production team,sales and construction team ensuringstrict adherence to designed mix specifications, casting methods, and safetystandards.· Interpretdetailed structural engineering drawings, reinforcement schedules, and workshopdrawings to guide accurate production and assembly.· Conductand document rigorous quality control checks, including dimensional accuracy,concrete strength, and surface finish of precast units.· Managemould inventory, schedule maintenance, and optimize production workflows forefficiency.· Enforceand champion a culture of safety,lean management practices ensuring allactivities comply with the highest industry and company HSE standards.· Productionplanning ensuring efficient ,low cost oprational costs with profit centredmindsetB. Technical Sales & Client Support (Secondary Focus - 25%)· Actas a technical consultant for clients and contractors, advising on thesuitability, benefits, and specifications of precast solutions for theirprojects.· Preparetechnical data sheets, basic quotations, and method statements based on projectdrawings and client requirements.· Liaisewith the company’s design/engineering team to clarify specifications and ensureseamless project execution.· Buildand maintain strong relationships with key clients, site supervisors, andcontractors to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.Qualifications & Experience· Adiploma or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering, Building & ConstructionTechnology, or a related field is MANDATORY.· Minimumof 3 years of hands-on experience in a precast concrete manufacturingenvironment or a heavy construction/structural fabrication setting.· Provenability to read, interpret, and work from architectural, structural, andworkshop drawings.· In-depthknowledge of concrete technology, reinforcement detailing, and precastproduction methodologies.· Priorexperience in a client-facing technical role or sales support withinconstruction is a strong advantage.· Mustbe a resident of Nakuru or willing to relocate immediately.Person Profile· Technical Expert: You have a passion for precisionmanufacturing and the structural science behind precast concrete.· Detail-Oriented Perfectionist: You understand that tolerances andspecifications in precast work are critical.· Hands-On Leader: You are as comfortable on the shopfloor solving a casting issue as you are in the office reviewing drawings.· Effective Communicator: You can explain technical detailsclearly to both your team and non-technical clients.· Proactive & Reliable: You take ownership of productionquality and timelines.
