Job Purpose:
The Tenders & Bidding Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing all tendering and bidding activities within Delta Engineering & Consultants Ltd, ensuring the company's participation in competitive bids for solar and lift installation projects.
The role involves identifying new business opportunities, coordinating bid preparation, and ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
The Tenders & Bidding Manager will work closely with technical, commercial, and finance teams to develop winning strategies, manage stakeholder relationships, and optimize the tendering process.
Key Responsibilities:
Tender & Bidding Process Management:
· Oversee the entire tendering and bidding process, from opportunity identification to contract award.
· Analyze tender documents and ensure compliance with technical and commercial requirements.
· Develop and implement a structured approach to bid preparation, ensuring deadlines are met.
· Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams in the preparation of tender documents.
· Review and proofread bid proposals to ensure accuracy, consistency, and competitiveness.
· Maintain an updated database of bid submissions, outcomes, and lessons learned.
Business Development & Market Intelligence:
· Identify and track new business opportunities in the solar and lift installation sectors.
· Conduct market research to understand competitors, pricing trends, and industry standards.
· Develop strategic partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, and clients.
· Work closely with the sales team to align tendering strategies with business growth objectives.
Financial & Commercial Oversight:
· Collaborate with finance and commercial teams to develop competitive pricing strategies.
· Analyze project costs, risks, and profitability to ensure financially sound bidding.
· Ensure all cost estimations, technical specifications, and commercial terms are accurate.
· Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize bid pricing and profitability.
Compliance & Risk Management:
· Ensure all tender submissions comply with regulatory and contractual requirements.
· Identify and mitigate risks associated with bid submissions.
· Maintain adherence to company policies, industry standards, and ethical guidelines.
Stakeholder & Team Management:
· Liaise with internal departments, clients, consultants, and government agencies regarding tenders.
· Develop strong working relationships with project managers, engineers, and legal teams.
· Train and mentor junior team members on best practices in tendering and bidding.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Procurement, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in tendering and bidding management, preferably in the solar and lift installation industry.
· Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and bid preparation.
· Experience working with government tenders, international procurement standards, and private sector bids.
· Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and bid management software.
