Travel Consultant - Flights and Ticketing
Job summary
Job Purpose The Travel Consultant will be responsible for managing airline reservations, ticketing, reissues, cancellations, and general flight-related customer support. The role focuses primarily on flight bookings and ensuring clients receive accurate, efficient, and professional service.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Handle client enquiries related to flights, fares, routes, and schedules
- Book, issue, reissue, and cancel airline tickets using GDS/booking systems
- Provide clients with accurate fare quotations and travel options
- Manage flight changes, refunds, and ticket revalidations
- Ensure compliance with airline policies and fare rules
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of airline products, promotions, and regulations
- Assist clients with baggage rules, visa and transit information (where applicable)
- Maintain accurate booking and client records
- Provide high-quality customer service and timely communication
- Support sales targets related to flight bookings
- Offer tour or holiday package information when required (as an added service)
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, Business or related field (preferred)
- Prior experience in airline ticketing or travel consultancy is an advantage
- Practical knowledge of GDS systems (e.g., Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre) is highly desirable
- Understanding of airline fare rules and ticketing procedures
