Job Summary
Our client is looking to hire an accountant who will support the finance and accounting functions within the property management company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, proper record-keeping, timely reconciliations, and compliance with internal controls.

Job Description/Requirements
The position reports directly to the Chief Accountant and shall be on a two-year contract with a six-month probation period.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and journals.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.
- Support the field property management team
- Manage petty cash (reimbursements, replenishing float)
- Prepare monthly bank, tenant, and landlord reconciliations.
- Support the Chief Accountant in tax compliance processes
- Assist in preparing periodic financial statements and management reports.
- Verify and post rent collections, utility billings, and service charge statements.
- Support the preparation of monthly property financial reports for landlords.
- Assist in billing tenants and monitoring outstanding rent and arrears.
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of all financial records.
- Participate in internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and relevant laws and regulations.
- Assist in budget preparation and expenditure monitoring.
- Support asset management, inventory control, and financial analysis.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA (K).
- Minimum of 2 years working experience in accounting, preferably in property management or real estate.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications.
- Understanding of Kenyan tax laws and financial regulations.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under minimal supervision.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
