Job Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of their international client in the manufacturing industry is seeking
an Assistant Operator, to support the operation and setup of Bobst Flat Die machines. The
Assistant Operator will work closely with machine operators and maintenance teams to ensure
efficient and safe running of corrugated board and packaging lines.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist in preparation and setup of Bobst Flat Die cutting machines to meet production schedules.
• Support operators in the setting, adjustment, and repair of flat die cutting operations.
• Monitor machine performance and assist with routine machine checks during production.
• Participate in daily autonomous and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure machine reliability.
• Help maintain accurate production and quality records in compliance with operational standards.
• Report any machine issues or production abnormalities to the Supervisor promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area in line with company HSE policies.

Qualifications
✓ Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating Bobst Flat Die machines or similar converting
equipment in a high-volume box/packaging plant.
✓ Demonstratable knowledge of flat die preparations, setting, troubleshooting, and repairs.
✓ Diploma in Engineering, Printing Technology, Mechanical Technology or a related field.
✓ Computer literacy including basic Microsoft Office; experience with shop floor ERP systems is a
strong advantage.
✓ Solid understanding of autonomous and preventive maintenance processes.
✓ Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.
