As it expands into 2026 and beyond, the company seeks a results-driven Business Development Manager to lead its Energy Efficiency function

Key Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in energy efficiency across C&I sectors.
Own the full end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting to closing.
Develop and present tailored energy solutions, including ESCO performance contracts, ROI models, M&V frameworks, and sustainable financing structures.
Build and maintain long-term strategic client relationships, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor on energy optimization, cost reduction, and compliance.
Support seamless client onboarding and collaborate with delivery teams to ensure retention, satisfaction, and upsell opportunities.
Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, regulatory developments, competitive dynamics, and green financing opportunities.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and marketing teams to align commercial strategies with technical capabilities and service delivery.
Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline health, and forecast accuracy using CRM tools.
Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and client engagements as a brand ambassador for energy efficiency and sustainability.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 3 years’ B2B sales experience managing high-value deals, preferably in energy, sustainability, renewables, technology, or engineering.
Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and delivering tailored client solutions.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical and financial concepts.
Experience with ESCO models, performance contracting, M&V, and green financing structures; CMVP® certification is an added advantage.
Solid understanding of Kenya’s energy landscape, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability trends.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with a genuine passion for sustainability and energy efficiency.
Education & Technical Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) for pipeline management and reporting.
Experience with cold outreach tools, email automation, and social selling platforms.
Familiarity with energy management tools, performance tracking systems, and data-driven decision-making.
