KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production & Efficiency

  • Plan and coordinate production to meet customer orders and delivery timelines.

  • Continuously improve productivity and production processes.

Raw Materials, Wastage & Cost Control

  • Ensure efficient utilisation of raw materials and other production inputs.
  • Drive towards minimum/zero avoidable wastage throughout the production process.
  • Monitor material issuance, consumption, output, scrap, rejects and recoverable material.
  • Ensure accurate material reconciliation for every production run.
  • Monitor labour/man-hour utilisation and productivity.
  • Investigate and account for abnormal material losses and production variances.

Quality & Product Standards

  • Ensure all products consistently meet approved specifications and customer requirements.
  • Enforce quality controls throughout the production process.
  • Minimise rejects, rework, customer returns and complaints.
  • Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented whenever quality issues arise.
  • Build a strong culture where quality is everyone's responsibility.

People Leadership

  • Lead the Edpack production and operations team.
  • Build a disciplined, cohesive, accountable and cooperative workforce.
  • Set clear responsibilities and performance expectations.
  • Develop supervisors, operators and other team members.
  • Promote teamwork, ownership, safety, good housekeeping and continuous improvement.

Data, Controls & Management Reporting

  • Lead accurate collection and processing of operational and production data.
  • Establish reliable systems for capturing production, wastage, downtime, quality and labour information.
  • Develop and maintain useful operational KPIs and dashboards.
  • Use data to identify trends, problems and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide the Director with timely daily, weekly and monthly reports on plant performance.
  • Ensure management has accurate information for operational and strategic decision-making.

  • Have demonstrated experience leading factory teams and driving accountability.
  • Be capable of identifying problems and implementing practical solutions.
  • Have strong organisational, communication and reporting skills.
  • Be comfortable spending significant time on the factory floor, not only in the office.
  • Demonstrate integrity, discipline, attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Be capable of working directly with the Director while independently taking responsibility for day-to-day plant performance.
