JOB SUMMARY
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving membership growth, product uptake, and ensuring exceptional member service experience across all touchpoints. This role combines strategic marketing leadership with customer service oversight to ensure a seamless member journey from onboarding to retention.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field. Professional Marketing Certification – CIM/ACIM is an added advantage) At least five (5) years’ experience in a marketing role. Experience in financial services, Sacco, or microfinance sector preferred. Technical & Interpersonal SkillsKnowledge of Sacco products, services, policies and systems. Ability to use marketing tools to increase visibility and reputation. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Sales and marketing skills. Strong interpersonal and networking skills. Business and customer focus. Brand champion mindset. Creativity, collaboration and problem solving. Strong organizational and planning skills. Professional expertise in relevant work area.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Marketing & GrowthDevelop, implement, and monitor TRAMOM SACCO’s annual marketing plan and budget.Supervise and coach Marketing Officers (Nairobi & Mombasa) to achieve monthly recruitment targets.Coordinate branding initiatives, digital marketing campaigns, roadshows, and activations.Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform product positioning.Track and report marketing ROI and performance to management and board.2. Customer Experience & ServiceOversee the front office and call desk operations, ensuring professional handling of member queries. Develop and implement Customer Service Standards.Monitor member feedback and complaints, resolve escalations in a timely manner.Lead initiatives to improve member satisfaction and retention.Maintain a member complaint log and present quarterly analysis to management.3. Stakeholder EngagementBuild relationships with corporates, community groups, and partners to drive new memberships.Collaborate with operations, credit, and IT to streamline member onboarding and loan processes.Represent Tramom Sacco in member events, exhibitions, and trade fairs.4. Reporting & CompliancePrepare monthly and quarterly performance reports for the CEO and Board.Ensure compliance with Sacco regulations, brand guidelines, and data protection policy
