Job Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of their international client in the manufacturing industry is seeking
is seeking an experienced EMBA 170 Machine Operator to join their busy box and corrugated
printing plant. The EMBA 170 Machine Operator will be responsible for the setup, operation,
and maintenance of EMBA printing and converting equipment on a high-volume production line.
The successful candidate will ensure efficient production, exceptional print quality, minimal waste,
and adherence to safety and autonomous maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities
• Safely set up, operate, and monitor EMBA 170 and related printing machines in a busy box plant
environment.
• Demonstrate sound understanding of flexographic printing processes, including plate mounting,
ink management, registration, and tension control.
• Conduct rotary die-cutting operations and ensure precise print-to-cut registration and quality.
• Monitor and adjust machine settings (speed, tension, alignment, pressure) to meet production
targets and quality standards.
• Carry out regular checks on printed output to detect and correct defects; document quality issues
and corrective actions.
• Perform routine autonomous and preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and
inspection of key components.
• Work with pre-feeders, palletizers, automatic strapping machines, and other ancillary production
equipment as required.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures on the shop floor.
• Use shopfloor computer systems/ERP for production logging, job tracking, and machine
reporting.
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality teams to optimize production flow and
support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
✓ Diploma in Engineering, Printing Technology, Industrial Technology, or equivalent technical
qualification.
✓ Minimum 5 years’ experience operating EMBA printing machines or similar flexo
printing/converting equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
✓ Strong understanding of flexographic printing processes and machine operations.
✓ Demonstrable knowledge and experience with rotary die cutting.
✓ Experience using computers and ERP/shopfloor systems is an added advantage.
✓ Experience with pre-feeders, palletizers, and automatic strapping machines is highly desirable
✓ Knowledge of autonomous and preventive maintenance principles.
✓ Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
✓ Good communication and team-working skills.
