Field Network Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network equipment including routers, switches, access points, and related hardware at field sites.
  
• Perform structured cabling (Ethernet and fiber optic) installations and ensure proper connectivity.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues in LAN/WAN and wireless environments.
  
• Conduct on-site diagnostics using appropriate network testing tools and equipment.
  
• Respond to service calls and provide timely technical support to minimize downtime.
  
• Carry out preventive maintenance on network infrastructure and equipment.
  
• Document all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities in service reports.
  
• Collaborate with internal technical teams to escalate and resolve complex network issues.
  
• Ensure compliance with company standards, safety procedures, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  
• Provide basic technical guidance and support to end-users when required.
  
• Maintain inventory and proper handling of network tools and equipment.
  
• Travel to different client or operational sites as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  
• At least 1 year of experience is required.
• Basic knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP).
  
• Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment.
  
• Experience with routers, switches, and access points is an added advantage.
  
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  
• Willingness to work in the field and travel to different sites.
  
• CCNA or Network+ certification is an added advantage.
