Job Summary

The Mutual Wealth Corporation (MUWECO), a consultancy and real estate corporation incorporated in Kenya requires an accountant to serve at the Kitui County Office located in Mwingi town. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience in accounts and related operations.

Job Description/Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Duties
1. Ensure office set up including management of equipment, furniture, telephone, computer and internet connectivity.
2. Formulate a branch budget and ensure monthly reporting within a variance of 10%.
3. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions and communication with (Suppliers, service providers and tenants).
4. Ensure compliance with tax laws, public health act, single business permit and any other county laws.
5. Guarantee zero arrears (rents are paid monthly in advance) and recovery of other debts.
6. Ensure issuance of invoices, receipts, and account statements to tenants.
7. Keep branch registers including assets, liabilities, tenants, suppliers and service providers.

Caretaker Duties
1. Inspect all properties and make recommendations for repairs and maintenance as well as income enhancing developments.
2. Ensure that all utilities, security, water, power are effectively managed.
3. Oversee general cleanliness, security, and maintenance of the properties.
4. Handle tenant inquiries, complaints, and provide customer service support.
5. Report any damages, incidents, or irregularities to management promptly.
6. Supervise support staff (e.g., cleaners, guards, maintenance workers) where applicable.

Letting & Marketing Duties
1. Market vacant units through social media, online platforms, and physical adverts.
2. Organize and conduct property viewings for prospective tenants.
3. Handle tenant applications, screening, and lease documentation.
4. Ensure smooth onboarding of new tenants and maintain updated record of occupancy and

vacancy rates.
5. Prepare for and undertake monthly performance evaluation achieving a minimum score of 30%.
6. Undertake such other duties as may be assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements
1. CPA Section I & II.
2. Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office Suite.
3. At least 3 years’ relevant experience in accounting or property management.
