- Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure machines are running efficiently to meet daily production targets.
- Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and optimize production output.
- Start up and shut down equipment safely at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Monitor machine performance and identify any abnormalities during operation.
- Produce products that meet established quality specifications and customer requirements.
- Conduct routine quality checks and inspections throughout the production process.
- Identify defective products and report quality issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and wastage.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance.
- Identify mechanical or operational faults and report them to the maintenance team.
- Assist maintenance personnel during machine servicing and repairs.
- Ensure machines are maintained in optimal working condition to minimize downtime.
- Operate machinery safely and in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Wear and properly use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with 5S and good manufacturing practices.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of raw materials and finished products.
- Monitor raw material availability and notify supervisors of shortages.
- Handle materials carefully to minimize waste and product damage.
- Ensure proper labelling and storage of finished products and production materials.
- Complete production reports accurately and on time.
- Record machine performance, production output, downtime, and maintenance activities.
- Communicate production issues and shift handover information effectively.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field from the National Youth Service (NYS) or another reputable institution.
- Minimum of 1–2 years experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a tissue manufacturing company will be a distinct advantage.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and machine operations.
- Ability to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot industrial production equipment.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine machine adjustments and maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Good problem-solving and fault identification skills.
- Ability to read and follow operating procedures and production instructions.
